Hi I am Lici I am 13 years old and this is my mum Jo who I love to the moon and back again! I have FASD, ASD and ADHD and a learning disability but that doesn’t stop me ! I love singing and Football, I have performed at Wembley arena with Voice In A Million many times. Rossi and I also recorded a song to raise awareness for FASD with west end singer Darren Day called “You Are My Song”

Jo Garofalo was born and raised in Hull. she studied performing arts at Laine Theatre Arts . As a teenager Jo developed her craft whilst training and by regularly performing on the club circuit in the North of England.

Upon leaving college Jo went on to perform in panto and the summer season throughout the UK and also appeared in the West End stage production of The Rocky Horror Show, followed by the UK tour of Patsy Cline’s show. Jo also worked extensively with Jim Davidson in summer seasons and appeared in shows in Germany, Cyprus, Bosnia, entertaining the British Troops.

For the past 30 years Jo has worked alongside her husband Robert producing music and documentary programming for television and DVD. Jo has worked with large number of internationally recognised artists including Bill Wyman (Rolling Stones), Rick Wakeman (YES) Greg Lake (the voice of King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer), Jim Davidson, Elkie Brookes,The Drifters, Leon Russell, JJ Cale, Dionne Warwick, Joe Pasquale and many more.

The Voice In A Million project came about due to Jo and her husband adopting their son Sam from Tangiers, Morocco in 2006. Their journey through adoption was not without its problems and though theirs has a very happy ending they felt as a couple that the UK system was a difficult system to navigate and so Voice In A Million was launched, VIAM celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2024.

Subsequently the couple adopted their much loved daughter Lici and Jo has thrown herself into the world of FASD, Jo says that she has had incredible training and gained amazing education, support & insight from so many people along the way. Jo credits so many people with where she is today  Raja Mukherjee, Sandy Butcher, Jeff Noble, Moira Plant, Aliy Brown, Barb Clark, Michael Harris, Brian Roberts, Jo Buckard and the many many people that she has listened too or work and books she has read!

However the most important connection was meeting Jan Griffin…. Removing the stigma is key with FASD and what better way than birth mum and adoptive mum to join together for good and change !!!! Jo has continued to work with her husband and they have recently launched RodTV, and are delighted for now have Road2FASD TV Channel. Jo also works for the FASD Hub Scotland part of Adoption UK
